There is a new report by the National Intelligence Council which concludes the United States global dominance in economic strength, political and even military power is set to wane.
Which countries will take it's place? Why the very countries we offshore outsourced our jobs to!
The National Intelligence Council (NIC) predicts China, India and Russia will increasingly challenge US influence.
It also says the dollar may no longer be the world's major currency, and food and water shortages will fuel conflict.
If the United States Dollar is no longer the reserve currency, this causes all sorts of problems, as described in the referenced post for the United States, especially running massive deficits.
The report Global Trends 2025, a Transformed World (large pdf), has many more details but I note on page 9, the United States is becoming like Latin America in income inequality.
The report predicts China and India will get most of the pie:
China and India—are restoring the positions they held two centuries ago when China produced approximately 30 percent and India 15 percent of the world’s wealth. China and
India, for the first time since the 18th century, are set to be the largest contributors to worldwide economic growth.
What is incredible is the United States did this to herself through corporate lobbyists and special interests pushing their short term agenda over the national interest through Congress. The loss of the United States economic strength is an inside job.
