The Commerce Department released the November 2009 Construction data.
Overall construction is down 0.6% from October 2009.
The culprit is private construction, down 0.7% from October and in residential, construction is down 1.6% from last month. These numbers are seasonally adjusted.
Public construction was up 0.4% overall from October and the reason for this is obviously infrastructure spending from the Stimulus. Highway construction increased 2.9% from October.
I noticed this metric is being ignored by the main stream media and construction is about 5% of overall U.S. GDP.
